A 3-year-old boy is recovering and may be released from the hospital after a near-drowning in El Mirage.
Just before 7 p.m. on Friday, the boy was removed from the backyard swimming pool of his home on the 12700 block of Santa Fe Lane. He was treated at the scene and flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital.
He was first listed in critical condition, but was upgraded to "guarded" on Sunday. Authorities said Monday that he may be released from the hospital.
