6-year-old found submerged in Phoenix pool at birthday party

May 23, 2009

Fire department officials say a young boy has been taken to a Valley hospital after he was found floating in a backyard pool during a birthday party in Phoenix Saturday.

The 6-year-old boy was reportedly found in the pool at a home near 95th Avenue and McDowell Road at about 1:45 p.m.

The official told ABC15 that there were adults and children around the pool at the time.

It was unknown how long the child had been submerged in the water.

CPR was performed and the boy was reportedly breathing on his own when transported to the hospital.
