4 Near-Drowning Incidents Occurred in Peoria

"Four near-drowning incidents have occurred in Peoria Arizona since January 1 of this year", reported Mike Tellef, Public Information Officer for the Peoria Fire Dept.

The details of those incidents are as follows:

7300 W. Beryl, Peoria

17 month female in family pool through open sliding glass door.
Neighbor provided CPR and child breathing when paramedics arrived.
No long term disabilities
NO BARRIER

02-14-99 10:52 am

7100 W. Cameron

11 month male into family pool through unsecured dog door.
13 year old sister performed CPR.
No long term disabilities
BARRIER PRESENT, BUT DOOR OPENED INTO THE POOL AREA.

11000 W. Esacuda

1year old female into grandparents pool through unlocked sliding glass.
door during family get together. Pulled from pool and family member had child breathing when medics arrived.
No long term disabilities
NO BARRIER

02-24-99 3:00 PM

7300 W. Wethersfield 1 year male into family pool through unlocked sliding glass door.
Pulled from pool by mother and she had the child breathing when medics arrived.
No long term disabilities.
NO BARRIER
