Drowning on Salt River

April 18, 2007

Body recovered in Salt River

A tragic day for the family of a man who drowned while tubing on the Salt River Wednesday.

The man, 67 year old Gary Conover was tubing with his family when investigators say he had trouble getting out of the river at the end of the trip.

Conover somehow lost his footing and inner-tube and went under the water. Search teams were called in and located his body this afternoon near Coon's Bluff.

Investigators say there was no fowl play and are calling the incident an accidental drowning.
