July 14, 2021. GOLDEN VALLEY, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – A Golden Valley 1-year-old who drowned in an above-ground swimming pool might have been in the water for as long as 15 minutes before he was found, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday morning.
The little boy was not breathing and did not have a pulse when he was pulled from the pool Tuesday evening. His father performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The team at Kingman Regional Medical Center got the child’s pulse back and then transferred him to a Las Vegas hospital. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office said he died on Wednesday.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, the 1-year-old had been swimming with his family early Tuesday evening. When the adults went inside, the child and his siblings stayed outside, playing by the pool. The little boy slipped away and got into the pool, which is about 4 feet high and is not fenced in, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said.
The investigation is ongoing.
