PHOENIX — A 1-year-old boy who was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition after being found unconscious and not breathing in a hot tub in west Phoenix has died, according to Phoenix police.
Phoenix fire said CPR was initiated before the fire crew’s arrival and it is unknown how long the child was in the water.
PHOENIX — A 2-year-old girl is dead after being pulled from a pool near 35th Avenue and Deer Valley Road.
Officials say the girl was found unconscious and not breathing in a backyard pool.
Family told first responders that the girl may have been in the water for 10 minutes.

FORT MCDOWELL, AZ — A teenage boy is dead after his kayak capsized Friday afternoon at Butcher Jones Beach.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says they were called around just after 4 p.m. Friday for a possible drowning.
When deputies arrived, witnesses told them a 16-year-old boy’s kayak had capsized.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Drowning prevention advocates are warning that the number of child drownings in the Phoenix area is on pace to reach record or near-record levels.
“This trend will be a horrific year if it goes on the way that it has this last month,” said Lori Stauffer, vice president of the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Arizona and works for Scottsdale Fire Department.

RIO VERDE, AZ (AZFamily) — A trip to the lake has turned into a nightmare when a man drowned at Bartlett Lake on Sunday evening.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said a man went underwater around 6:30 p.m. in the Bartlett Flats area, which is on the north side of the lake, and never resurfaced.

CHANDLER, Ariz. — A 2-year-old girl has been hospitalized after nearly drowning in a pool in Chandler, the city’s police and fire department confirmed Saturday.
Chandler fire says crews were called to the incident near Chandler Boulevard and Price Road and found the child conscious, breathing and alert. They say the child’s family had performed CPR on her after pulling her out of the pool before firefighters could get to the scene.

The Glendale Fire Department says around 7:30 p.m. Thursday police received a call of a 4-year-old girl who had fallen into a pool at a home in that area.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A 1-year-old boy was taken to a hospital in serious condition after being found in a pool in Scottsdale Friday night.
Scottsdale fire crews were called to the area of 94th Street and Cactus Road just after 6:30 p.m. after the boy had been pulled from a pool.
