MESA, AZ – A body was found in a lake in Mesa on Tuesday morning.

Mesa fire received a call about a body floating in a lake behind a residence near Dobson and Baseline Roads.

Crews arrived on the scene at 7:00 a.m. and found the body floating in the lake.

Police said the body is a 20 to 35 year man. It is unclear how to man ended up in the lake.  The man has not been identified.

Officials believe the body may have been in the lake for several days.

MESA, AZ – MCSO divers have recovered the body of a man who drowned at the Salt River Sunday.

A 32-year-old man was reportedly near Usery Pass on the river when he went under and did not resurface.

MCSO Lake Patrol divers found the man’s body Sunday afternoon.

It’s unclear at this time why or how he went under or how many people were with him.

Doctors on Friday were “cautiously optimistic” that a 1-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy will make a full recovery after nearly drowning in a backyard pool in west Phoenix.

“This appears to be a near-tragic accident at this point,” said Officer James Holmes, a Phoenix police spokesman, who added that the investigation was ongoing.

The children had been rushed to a Valley hospital in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a pool Thursday afternoon.

PHOENIX – Elisa Cazares never wanted to be an expert on pool safety, but she wants to make sure no other parent has to go through this.

“I was the one who discovered him in the pool,” she said.

Her son, Eric, was just two-years-old when he drowned in a backyard pool. It’s likely Eric pushed out a screen in the Arizona room and fell through into the pool that backed up to the house.

TUCSON – Sean Hughes, 23, was booked for 2nd degree murder and child abuse, and Heather Rivas, 25, was booked on one count of child abuse in connection with Tuesday night’s drowning of two-year-old Victoria Rivas.

Capt. Adam Goldberg with Northwest Fire said firefighters and paramedics arrived at the 6600 block of North Harran Drive to find parents performing CPR on Rivas at the direction of a 911 dispatcher. According to investigators, Rivas was found in the home’s in-ground swimming pool. She had been there for up to 15 minutes before the parents called for help.

Pima County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived at approximately 7:15 p.m. to find Northwest Fire Dept. paramedics and firefighters performing CPR on the child. She was transported to Banner-UMC where she was later pronounced deceased.

PHOENIX – A Valley mother whose son died after a near-drowning on Father’s Day wants to remind parents to watch their children around water.

Baby Diesel, 2, was with family at a Father’s Day celebration when he snuck away and somehow got into the pool. The boy was pulled out and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries , said fire officials.
