A 2-year-old child has died after being found at the bottom of a Mesa pool Wednesday evening.
CAVE CREEK, AZ — Police say a 1-year-old has died after being pulled from a pool in Cave Creek Tuesday morning.
Rural Metro fire officials say they were called to a home near 58th Street and Dixileta Drive around 8 a.m.
A 1-year-old boy was reportedly pulled from the pool and was not breathing at the time. Family performed CPR but the child remained unresponsive and was taken to a hospital. The child later died, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says.
At this point, it’s not known how long the child was in the water or how he got into the water.
Officials originally said the child was 5 years old, however, updated their information to say the child was younger.
No further information has been released.

A man died after being pulled from an apartment complex pool on Monday morning in Mesa, according to fire officials.
The middle-aged man was pulled from a pool at a complex near Signal Butte Road and Southern Avenue, and CPR was in progress when fire crews arrived, officials said.
Crews performed emergency medical care without success, and the man was pronounced dead at the location, officials said.
The man’s name was not released.

GLENDALE, AZ — Glendale firefighters say a 3-year-old girl has died after being pulled from a pool at a home near 59th Avenue and Beardsley Road Saturday afternoon.
Officials say the girl’s family is from out of town and were renting the home as an Airbnb.
There were about 12 family members including multiple children under 10-years-old in the backyard at the time of the drowning. The family said they were distracted watching the other children when the 3-year-old got into the pool without anyone seeing her.
Her uncle and a neighbor who is a nurse performed CPR before Glendale firefighters arrived on scene and took over.
When they arrived on scene the child did not have a pulse and was not breathing.
She was then transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she later died.
Glendale police say they do not know how long the child was underwater, and there was no fence around the pool.

PHOENIX – A 42-year-old man was fond dead in a pool Sunday, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. It happened in the 5200 block of Waltann Lane early Sunday morning. He was found unresponsive in the pool and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.
AVONDALE, AZ — Avondale police say a 1-year-old child has died after being found unresponsive in a bathtub at a home near Van Buren Street and Avondale Boulevard Sunday.
Authorities say the child was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition and was later pronounced deceased.
Police are investigating what led up to the incident.

2-year-old girl in hospital after near-drowning in Buckeye
A 2-year-old girl was seriously injured after she was pulled out of a canal in Buckeye on Saturday, officials said.
Deputies were called to an area near Baseline and South Palo Verde roads about 5:45 p.m. in response to a drowning, according to a spokesperson for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
The girl’s family members were doing yard work and lost track of their daughter for a short time, officials said. The 2-year-old was found unresponsive in an irrigation-type canal.
The father pulled the girl from the canal and performed CPR until emergency responders arrived. Officials said she was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
