PHOENIX – A 3-year-old boy was taken to a hospital after being pulled from a north Phoenix pool on Saturday afternoon. He passed away at the hospital, officials said.

The boy was in full cardiac arrest, fire crews said.

The incident happened at a backyard pool at Tatum Boulevard and Union Hills Drive. Phoenix fire officials said the boy was found by his grandparents; it’s unknown how long he was underwater.

The boy was pronounced deceased once at the hospital, Phoenix police officials said.

A man was found dead in a Phoenix bathroom near 67th Avenue and Van Buren Street on Saturday night, according to Phoenix Fire Department officials.

Firefighters were initially told that a man had drowned and was found in the bathroom with his head in the toilet.

Officials later confirmed they found an adult male dead in the bathroom.

The death is being investigated by the Phoenix Police Department as a possible overdose, officials said.

An Olympic runner was found dead in a swimming pool at an apartment complex in Scottsdale Monday morning, police said.

David Torrence, 31, was found at the bottom of the pool at Center Court Condominiums near Scottsdale and Thomas roads around 7:30 a.m., Scottsdale police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

PHOENIX, AZ – A young boy has died after being pulled from a pool at a Phoenix apartment complex.

Phoenix firefighters were called to the area of 48th Street and Baseline Road Saturday night after a 3-year-old boy was discovered in a pool.

When firefighters arrived at the scene his mother was performing CPR, a Phoenix fire spokesperson said.

The boy was then taken to the hospital in critical condition.

On Sunday morning fire officials confirmed that the boy had died at the hospital.

A 16-month-old girl who was pulled from a backyard pool in Peoria on Friday morning has died, police said.

It wasn’t immediately clear how long the child had been submerged.

The call came at about 7 a.m. at a house in the 13100 block of North 82nd Lane.A Peoria Fire Department spokesman said the child’s father and a family friend were home at the time.

They pulled the girl from the water and administered CPR until firefighters could take over, department spokesman Tim Eiden said.

MESA, AZ – The Mesa Fire and Medical Department says a two-year-old girl has died after being found face down in a Mesa pool Thursday.
The incident happened near Sossaman and Southern Avenue.

Police say it appears to be accidental, and that no foul play was involved.

There’s no word how long the child was in the pool but officials say the pool was fenced. It’s unclear how the child got into the pool area.

PEORIA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -A 14-month-old is in critical condition after nearly drowning in his family’s backyard swimming pool.

It happened Saturday night in a Peoria neighborhood near 83rd and Sweetwater avenues. According to police, the toddler’s mother was home at the time.

She told police she lost track of the little boy for at least 10 minutes.

PEORIA, AZ – A 2-year-old boy was rushed into medical care on Friday morning after he was found in a backyard pool at a Peoria home, but was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Parents began performing CPR at the home near 83rd Avenue and Cactus Road, and paramedics took over when they arrived.

The boy, identified as Ezra by family friends, was unresponsive as he was being transported to Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. He was pronounced dead upon arriving at the hospital at 11 a.m.

Peoria fire spokesman Tim Eiden say the boy’s father found the child, Ezra in the pool, but it was unclear how long he had been in the water.

YOUNGTOWN, AZ – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says a child has died after she was pulled from a pool in Youngtown.

According to the Sun City Fire Department, the toddler was airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital after she was discovered in a pool at a home near 111th and Alabama avenues.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said the girl had crawled out of the house through a dog door and ended up in the water.

MCSO said the child was missing for about 10 minutes.

LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ – Officials are investigating after a husband and wife drowned at Lake Havasu on Friday.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a report of an adult woman that was pulled from the water just before 3:30 p.m.

Good Samaritans who were off duty Los Angeles County deputy sheriff’s performed CPR on the woman before she was later pronounced dead by fire personnel at the Crazy Horse Docks.

Deputies then learned a man was missing from the same boat. Search crews located the man about 15 minutes later at the bottom of the lake in approximately 12 feet of water.

The man was taken to the Crazy Horse Docks where he was also pronounced dead.
