GOODYEAR, AZ — A child was taken to a hospital after a near-drowning at a West Valley home on Wednesday morning. Goodyear PIO has reported that the child died at the hospital.
Around 7:30 a.m., emergency crews were called to a home near 179th Avenue and Broadway Road in Goodyear.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A toddler is in critical condition after nearly drowning in a backyard pool in Goodyear Wednesday morning.
“Time is precious when we get there. We know that a child’s life is in the balance like that,” said Jay Arthur of the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Arizona. He is also a retired Phoenix firefighter with decades of experience responding to drowning calls. “What we see as first responders, we see the faces of our own children when we’re working on them.”
So far this year, there have been zero drowning deaths involving children in the Valley, according to Children’s Safety Zone. But Arthur said two kids who nearly drowned this year are severely impaired.

PHOENIX — A adult man is in critical condition after a near-drowning incident at a backyard pool in central Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
The man was found unconscious and not breathing in a backyard pool near 7th Avenue and Indian School Road Monday afternoon.
CANYON LAKE, AZ — An 18-year-old man drowned Friday afternoon at Canyon Lake, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
MCSO Lake Patrol deputies responded to the scene around 1 p.m. on May 8 after witnesses reported a possible drowning.

— A man died after being pulled from a pool in Scottsdale, the city’s police department said.
Scottsdale Police Department said a man on his late 70s who was pulled from the pull at Scottsdale Jewish Community Center was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

First responders were called to a home in a neighborhood near 23rd Avenue and Beardsley Road, which is south of the Loop 101 Agua Fria, just before 5:30 p.m.

LAKE HAVASU, AZ (AZFamily) — Two men are dead after their boat crashed on the Colorado River near Lake Havasu on Tuesday.
Deputies found the boat near the California side of the shoreline. San Bernardino County and Lake Havasu fire crews responded to help the two men.

STRAWBERRY, AZ (AZFamily) — A 25-year-old man died Sunday after drowning beneath a waterfall in the Fossil Creek Wilderness in central Arizona.
Just before noon, deputies were dispatched to a reported drowning at the Fossil Creek Lower Waterfalls, according to the Gila County Sheriff’s Office. They responded alongside Tonto Rim Search and Rescue and Pine-Strawberry Fire Department.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A toddler is recovering in the hospital after he was pulled from a backyard pool at a central Phoenix home on Monday evening.
Just before 7 p.m., Phoenix firefighters received reports of a drowning at a home near 15th and Glendale avenues. Firefighters say a 2-year-old boy was found in a backyard pool unconscious.
