Officers responded to the call on Mill Avenue near Broadway Road on Sunday evening, police said.

TEMPE, Ariz. — A 3-year-old girl has been sent to the hospital after a near-drowning on Mill Avenue near Broadway Road on Sunday evening.

Officers and Tempe Fire Medical and Rescue responded to the scene around 4:45 p.m. and saw an individual rendering aid to the girl, police said.

TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — A 1-year-old girl has died after being pulled from an apartment complex pool in Tempe Saturday.

Tempe Fire Department spokeswoman, Andrea Glass, says crews were called to an apartment complex near Rural Road and Baseline Road shortly after 5 p.m. and when crews arrived, they found the child was already out of the water. A bystander and a Tempe police officer were performing CPR on the child. Firefighters took the baby to a local hospital.

On Monday, Glass confirmed that the girl passed away. “We are deeply saddened by this news and will be working to send out safety messaging to reinforce always watching kids around water.”

Tempe Fire Department spokeswoman, Andrea Glass, says crews were called to an apartment complex near Rural Road and Baseline Road shortly after 5 p.m. and when crews arrived, they found the child was already out of the water. It’s unclear how the child got into the pool. The incident is under investigation.

PHOENIX — A toddler who almost drowned three weeks ago has made a full recovery, and now his mom is warning other parents to be extra cautious.

On April 18, then 22-month-old Justin wandered into the backyard of his north Phoenix home, away from his parent’s surveillance for just minutes. After realizing he was missing, Erica and Anthony Alvarez, the mom and dad, quickly found Justin in the pool, floating face down.

PHOENIX — An 11-month-old boy was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being pulled from a backyard pool in Phoenix on Friday.

The Phoenix Fire Department says it happened near 60th Street and Camelback Road. Firefighters and police responded to the home after reports the child was found unresponsive in the pool.
