PEORIA, Ariz. — Days after Jovanni “JoJo” Thomas-Padilla tragically drowned at Lake Pleasant, his family and friends gathered there in his memory.
As the sun set at Scorpion Bay loved ones lit candles and shared memories of JoJo.
“He was a free spirit, carefree, happy. He was quiet but always joking,” said Yaminah Thomas, JoJo’s mom.

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. — A woman has died after she was found unresponsive in a Paradise Valley pool on Friday, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Firefighters were called to the area near 44th Street and Lincoln Drive. Upon arrival, they found the woman and removed her from the pool.

LAKE PLEASANT, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — Maricopa County deputies have identified the body of a swimmer recovered at Lake Pleasant on Wednesday afternoon. The sheriff’s office says 18-year-old Jovanni Thomas-Padilla was found after more than two hours of searching.

Officials say the child was pulled from the water in a backyard pool near South Horne and Southern Avenue around 7 p.m.

LAKE HAVASU, AZ — An 8-year-old girl from California is in critical condition after she was found approximately four feet underwater at Lake Havasu Saturday afternoon.
Mohave County officials say they received a call regarding a child who was missing in the swim area.
The girl was found by family before crews arrived.

TEMPE — A child is in serious condition after being pulled from a pool in Tempe Friday afternoon.
Officials say they were called to the area of US 60 and Kyrene Road just before 3 p.m.
There, crews found a toddler who had been removed from the pool by family members.

CHANDLER, AZ — An 18-month-old boy was taken to the hospital after being pulled from a pool Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred near Gilbert and Riggs roads sometime around 8:30 p.m.
Chandler police say the young boy was initially taken to Chandler Regional Medical Center but was later airlifted to Phoenix Children’s.

MESA, AZ — Officials say a man’s body was recovered after allegedly going into a lake in Mesa on Saturday.
Police have identified the man as 54-year-old Bradley Perry.
