GLENDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – Glendale fire says a toddler drowned after he was found in a pool on August 17. First responders were called out to a home near 59th Avenue and Mountain View Road around 6:15 p.m. When they got there, a family member was doing CPR on a 1-and-a-half-year-old boy. Crews took over CPR and he was taken to the hospital where he took a turn for the worse and passed away.

Aerial video shows there is a fence between the pool and the back door and fire officials said it’s unclear how the boy got into the water.

BUCKEYE, AZ — Three children have been taken to a hospital after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool at a Buckeye home.

Just before 11 a.m. Saturday, emergency crews were called to a home on Hess Avenue, near Interstate 10 and Miller Road, for reports of a drowning.

Officials with the Buckeye Fire Department say three children have been taken to Phoenix Children’s hospital.

Two of the children, a 2-year-old and 3-year-old, were airlifted in critical condition

On Memorial Day weekend,18-year-old Carley Bove’s life changed forever because she nearly lost it.

She had lost her footing while tubing down the Salt River.

“I decided to kind of get out of my tube and pull everyone to the side,” Bove said.

It was too much. She went under the water and was unconscious.
